Ashley Amerio graduated from high school in Scottsdale, Arizona.  She then relocated to the California Bay Area where she attended San Jose State University. While attending SJSU, she interned at NASA Ames Research Center and obtained her B.A in Psychology, with a minor in Criminology. Mrs. Amerio then relocated to Sacramento and attended McGeorge School of Law.  Throughout law school, she interned at a law firm that specialized in Bankruptcy and Criminal Defense.  After passing the bar exam, she practiced Bankruptcy Law and Criminal Defense Law.  Mrs. Amerio was the supervising bankruptcy attorney for the Chapter 7 team, which was  the largest Chapter 7 Bankruptcy filed in Northern California.  She has filed thousands of bankruptcy cases and dealt with numerous complex Chapter 7 Bankruptcy cases.  Mrs. Amerio then went to the Amador County District Attorney’s office to work as a Deputy District Attorney.  During her tenure at the DA’s office, Mrs. Amerio handled a wide variety of misdemeanor and felony cases, up to preliminary hearing and jury trial.  Additionally, Mrs. Amerio had a near perfect jury trial conviction rate and held two awards based on her trial skills and zealous advocacy. During her time at the DA’s office, Mrs. Amerio learned the justice system from both the prosecutorial perspective and the defense perspective, giving her a complete understanding of the system.  Additionally, she built strong relationships with judges, prosecutors, and court staff.
